Role Preparation Course

This 5-day module (20 hours) concerns professional artists wishing to undergo an intensive preparation for a specific role, concert or recital in order to honor a short-term professional contract. Also, CNIPAL can put other courses in place, like beginning work courses, which allow the singers to have a first look of the role they envisage to play, or courses to prepare second role, often distributed in great Opera Houses.

The course module includes :

• an assessment of the level of musical and linguistic preparation of work
• positioning of the work in its historic, musical, stylistic and theatrical context
• positioning of the work in its dramatic and psychological context
• linguistic and phonetic study (French, Italian, German) of the role
• preparation with a singer master
• a run-through of the work with a Conductor, attended by the artistic team.

Singers wishing to follow a short course must complete an application form to be procured from the CNIPAL. Each application is subjected to selection by CNIPAL's artistic team. The Price for the whole 20hours-course is 750 Euros (or 450 € for job seekers).

In order to take part in the Role Preparation Course, singers have to sent an application form. A selection is made by the artistic team. .
